So today is International Family Day – did you even know this was a thing? What a perfect time to start thinking about spending more time together. Family holidays are a great way to spend quality time together and create lasting memories. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or a longer holiday, there are plenty of options to choose from. Let’s explore some of the benefits of family holidays and provide some tips for planning your next family adventure.
𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀
𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀: Family holidays provide an opportunity for parents and children to spend quality time together, away from the distractions of daily life. This can help to strengthen family bonds and build closer relationships.
𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: Family holidays are a great way to create lasting memories that you and your children will cherish for years to come. Whether it’s exploring a new city, trying new foods, or participating in fun activities, family holidays provide a wealth of opportunities for creating memories.
𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: Family holidays offer the chance to experience new things together, whether it’s exploring a new destination, trying a new activity, or experiencing a different culture. This can be a great way to broaden your children’s horizons and expose them to new ideas and experiences.
𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗹: Family holidays provide a break from the stresses of daily life, allowing you to relax and recharge. This can be particularly important for busy parents who may not have much time to unwind during the year.
𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀
𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: Involve your children in the planning process by asking them what they would like to do and where they would like to go. This can help to build excitement and anticipation for the trip. Obviously build in some expectations and perhaps some limitations – my three would all want to go somewhere completely different and no doubt way off budget – perhaps steer them to a few options you mighty have shortlisted.
𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁: Set a realistic budget for your family holiday and stick to it. This can help to prevent overspending and financial stress. We all know that it’s so so easy to just get excited about a pretty hotel, or the amazing pool. When you workw with me, I make it my mission to save you money and to beat your budget. I won’t be pushing the boundaries – well maybe I might give you a few options, but I certainly will be providing you with options and quotes that are way in your price range whereever possible. Although please don’t come to me with a £500 budget wanting 2 weeks in Florida with all the parks included :-)
𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Choose a destination that is suitable for your family’s needs and interests. Consider factors such as the age of your children, the type of activities you want to do, and the climate of the destination. This is something I can totally help with, and if you give me details about what your family likes I can select some perfect options for you.
𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱: Plan ahead by booking flights, accommodations, and activities in advance. This can help to save money and ensure that you have everything you need for a smooth and stress-free trip. Yes you can and might get a last minute bargain, but in all honestly the best way to get what you want is for us to plan and book ahead of time. You can then spread the cost of your trip interest free over monthly payments to suit you.
𝗕𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲: Be flexible and open to changing your plans if necessary. Remember that family holidays are about spending time together and creating memories, so don’t stress too much about sticking to a rigid itinerary. I always travel with a whole host of things I want to do when I get to our destination – blame the ADHD – and I have had to find a way of getting over my disappointment when things do not go to plan. Children are the greatest plan sabotages right, the morning you want to be up early to get to the sights before the crowds, you can guarantee they will have a terrible sleep the night before and need to sleep in – you know what you can always go the next day, or at the end of the day again once the crowds have subsided.
By following these tips, you / we can plan a fun and stress-free family adventure that everyone will enjoy.. Do you have a top tip to share?
